The Inclusive Policy works as a bridge between the Counseling and Special Education Department and the Mainstream classrooms to ensure that the modalities of the procedure are carried out and specifically, modifications, concessions granted reflect in the IEP of students of determination with learning difficulties.
IEPs are developed along with the special educator and parent and lists down the educational and socioemotional goals for the child along with the plan for implementing the same. Teachers ensure differentiated lesson plans, worksheets and assessments for such children.
Students with special needs will also be supported through remediation and reinforcement. It will be our aim to ensure seamless integration of such students as far as possible. Further accommodations such as extra time and allotment of scribes are incorporated wherever necessary, keeping in mind the rules of CBSE.
We will also draw in the experience of visiting professionals such as Child Psychologists & Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists as required. Special attention will be given to the children in the area of Physical Education, Drama, Art & Craft, Computers and Performing Arts, along with emphasis on Language & Communication Skills, Social Skills, Life Skills and IT. For planning accommodations for students with special needs, we work closely with the parents, to ensure that the child feels supported at all times. The School Principal would also be responsible for ensuring that the teachers are trained in inclusive practices.
